Potato Rapids Non-Motorizd Trail System

The Potato Rapids Non-Motorized Trail System has gently rolling views of the Peshtigo River. This portion of trails is located along U.S. Highway 64, five miles west of Marinette. These are multi-purpose trails. The trails on DNR land are open to hiking, horseback riding and biking. The trails on Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) land are open to foot-traffic only.

Riverside Park Trail System

Spend some time in this series of trails following the banks of the Menominee River. Located in the city of Niagara, meaning "thundering waters", these trails feature bluff views and the wooded beauty of all four seasons. Take time to hike, bike, cross country ski, or snowshoe in this pristine area.

Spring Rapids Trail System

The Spring Rapids Trail System is located approximately five miles west of Crivitz off County Road W onto Kirby Lake Lane. The trailhead offers parking directly off Kirby Lake Lane. This system offers more than five miles of groomed winter ski trails for both classic and skate skiing at various
levels of difficulty.

Strong Falls Trails

Strong Falls Trails are dual-use for hiking and biking, and multi-directional so they can be ridden or hiked in either direction. Dogs are welcome on the green circle trails, however discouraged on blue square and black diamond trails, for safety concerns. Class 1 E-bikes are allowed, however class 2 and class 3 E-bikes are strictly prohibited on Strong Falls Trails. Horses, ATVs, UTVs, snowmobiles, dirt bikes and other motorized vehicles are prohibited.

Do I need a trail pass? Trail passes are not required to ride or hike Marinette County-owned trails, including the Strong Falls Trails. A Marinette County Parks pass is not required for entry to the Strong Falls Trailhead. However, if access to the trails is obtained through Goodman or McClintock parks, regular entry requirements apply. Marinette County Parks day passes are $5 per vehicle and available at park entrances or to buy online, click here.

Thunder Mountain Overlook

Almost three miles of mowed, well-marked hiking or mountain bike trails including scenic views of western Marinette County. Hilly terrain, picnic areas, water hand pump, pit toilets available. Marinette County Parks pass required (available at entrance).
